Creating a Small Cross-Body Phone Bag: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at What I'm Working On

Today, I give you a sneak peek into what I am currently working on – a small cross-body phone bag. Crocheting has been a passion of mine for years, and I am always on the lookout for new projects to take on. And this time, I thought it would be fun to share my journey with all of you.

black and cream crochet cotton yarn

The idea for this phone bag came to me when I realized how often I was misplacing my phone when out with the kids. As you can imagine with three kids in tow I always carry a lot of stuff with me in my extra-large bag! So I wanted something that would keep my phone safe and secure while also being easy to access. So, I decided to create a small bag that I could wear across my body and that would fit my phone and a few other essentials.

The first step in this project was choosing the yarn. I wanted something that would be durable and easy to work with, while also being soft to the touch. After some research, I settled on a lightweight cotton yarn that would give the bag a nice texture.

Next came the design. I wanted the bag to be compact but still spacious enough to hold everything I needed. I played around with different shapes and sizes until I settled on a rectangular shape with a push-button closure.

The actual crocheting process took me a few days to complete. It was a bit challenging to get the pattern exactly the way I wanted. But I persevered, and I am really happy with the final product.

Now that the bag is complete, it is time to add the finishing touches. I purchased a pair of brown and black leather straps that I attached to the different coloured bags to give them a bit of personality. I think this will really help the bag stand out and make a statement.

And there you have it – a behind-the-scenes look at what I am currently working on. I hope that this glimpse into my creative process has been interesting and informative. If you are also a crochet enthusiast, I encourage you to take on a similar project and see where your creativity takes you or check out my store for the finished product.

Who knows – you might just end up with a new favourite accessory!
